Crested geckos are a popular pet reptile known for their distinctive eyelashes and gentle nature. Native to New Caledonia, they thrive in moderate humidity and temperatures between 22–26°C (72–79°F). They are nocturnal and arboreal, requiring a vertical enclosure with plants and branches for climbing. Their diet consists mainly of specially formulated gecko diets supplemented with occasional insects. With proper care, crested geckos can live up to 15 years, making them a rewarding and relatively low-maintenance companion for reptile enthusiasts.
