Gargoyle geckos are striking arboreal reptiles native to New Caledonia, known for their distinctive bumpy skin and impressive climbing abilities. These docile, medium-sized geckos thrive in humid, tropical environments and make rewarding pets for experienced reptile keepers.
Proper care requires a tall, well-ventilated enclosure with plenty of climbing branches and foliage. Maintain humidity between 60–80% and temperatures around 72–78°F. Feed a varied diet of insects like crickets and roaches, supplemented with fruit-based gecko diet. Provide UVB lighting and ensure fresh water is always available through misting or a water dish.
Gargoyle geckos are generally calm and can tolerate gentle handling, though they prefer observation over frequent interaction.
